Hi, can you guide me through recompiling the split- archive winrar files please into a .iso. Not sure what to do at all. Cheers.

Okay, you need an unrar. If you’re using Windows, install a trial copy of WinRAR and then right-click on “Part 1″ of the split archive and choose Extract. If you’re using Ubuntu or an Ubuntu derivative, right-click on “Part 1″ and choose “Extract Here”. No matter which method you use, make sure you have all seven parts of the split archive downloaded.
Once the ISO has been fully extracted, go to where it was extracted to and burn it to a CD. For Windows, I recommend IMGburn, and for Ubuntu and Ubuntu derivatives, I recommend the Brasero disc burning application. For Brasero, right-click on the ISO and choose “Burn Image”.
Or you may want to just download the ISO over BitTorrent. The ISO is already being seeded.

Forgot to say, but if you are using Ubuntu or an Ubuntu derivative, you need to have unrar installed in order to be able to extract the ISO and readme. Just to be safe, make sure your repositories are loaded up and execute “sudo apt-get install unrar”. If you are using Linux Mint, then unrar is already installed.

Having a problem, im using Ubuntu Hardy Heron, when i try and extract the first part it requests a password! I have tried my own login passwords etc. Any help now?

It shouldn’t require a password to extract. Do you have access to another computer that has another OS, including an earlier version of Ubuntu? If so, try to extract it on there. If that doesn’t work, try extracting it on Windows using a demo version of WinRAR. If that still doesn’t work, then I recommend downloading the ISO from either BitTorrent or on Frosrwire/Limewire.
